These are photos taken by Angel Villanueva during our surf session at Carille last February. Although most of us knows about the bad publicity it gets, Carille, when it's working on a good day, is still my favorite wave! :)

Haters gonna hate...but Carille is for lovers. My favorite spot too. Great vibe, great shape, and the longest ride! Plus, the iconic Jesus statue!
ReplyDeleteI spent every evening here for my first two months living in LU. I was shocked to discover it actually got waves! Look forward to surfing Carille when I come back :)
ReplyDeleteWoohoo Carille, source of my hepatitis A! But what a stoke as long as you act like a good girl and don't swallow!
ReplyDeleteGanda insan:) classic
ReplyDeleteReally Meghan? Hehe. Yup, every so often, nature blesses us with perfect waves in Carille! :) When ever it gets too big at the point and at the beach break, take a jeepney ride to Carille :)
ReplyDeleteAndrew! Roxy's uncle and I can't wait to surf Carille with you again! This time, don't swallow!!!
ReplyDeleteYes! Never swallow at Carille, and you'll be fine. If you surf there often enough, I believe you'll get vaccinated by the water. Haha.
ReplyDeleteImagine if our local government planners saw our seas as precious treasures and assets rather than just natural sewage dump sites, Carille and possibly a hundred more spots like this could have been well preserved, scenic, and diaper free surf spots. If only all our politicians and government officials were surfers, our country would surely be a better place.
ReplyDeleteWow! Buji! Is that you? Finally a way to communicate with you! The internet is so amazing! It translates your words into English!
ReplyDeleteCarille must continue to have diapers and trash because this is what makes the waves so clean! haha.
True. We lived at Oceana when we first moved to LU. Would be so great to see that spot cleaned up. The local government in San Fernando is making some progress in keeping our oceans clean. This is one of the projects I was working on while I lived in LU http://sfluseptage.blogspot.com/
ReplyDeleteWow, this is really great Meghan! Most people just really need to be educated about these things. :)
ReplyDeleteDrew! Hahaha! I was able to get a program that translates my Tagalog to English. It's a really Delicious software...ay patay, nagloko na..pirated kasi eh...
ReplyDeleteThat's really good to hear Meghan! We really need people like you to help make a big difference in the way most people in our country think. Looking forward to seeing all these changes implemented soon. Thanks Meghan!
ReplyDeleteThe real inspiration is so many of the wonderful Pinoy people I met that are already making a difference. Change will come but it takes time. I think that's why I love surfing communities so much! If you are a surfer you already have a connection to the ocean and a desire to want to protect it.
ReplyDelete*Fingers crossed* But I may be returning to the Philippines in September to work on a project in Samar.
Always great to know that there's a growing number of people who want to help preserve our environment in their own small way:)
ReplyDeleteWow!I'm sure you will enjoy your stay in Samar as well and meet a lot of new Pinoys who want to make a difference..Looking forward to seeing you this September then Meghan :)
